All field work is done in Idaho, Montana, eastern Oregon, eastern Washington, and northern Nevada. PIBO Effectiveness Monitoring implements an intensive reach scale stream survey. Using one of the most rigorously tested sampling protocols available, technicians collect information on a variety of stream attributes including pools, channel geometry, substrate, streambank characteristics, gradient, water chemistry, large woody debris, and macroinvertebrates. Salary: Depending upon your qualifications, the job grade and corresponding pay range are: GS-3 $11.74/hour , GS-04 $13.18/hour , and GS-5 $14.74/hour . In addition, employees receive a travel per diem of $16 $128 every pay period for each work day. Hiring will begin in January and continue until positions are filled or until the field season starts in May. It is highly recommended that applications be submitted by March 1, 2009.

Qualifications
Course work or experience in natural resource management and outdoor/field experience. Able to camp for extended periods of time and the ability to hike extended distances with a 40lb. back pack. An excellent attitude and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities
HDR SWRI searches for Fisheries Biologist II to join growing Sacramento, CA environmental sciences group. Primary duties will be: to prepare quantitative/qualitative fishery and aquatic resource impact evaluations and related technical analyses, develop experimental designs, develop/review technical reports provide on-going technical support for various types of projects related to aquatic resources. Work with clients, resource agencies, technical staff, and project managers in the preparation of technical sections of CEQA, NEPA, and ESA documents, technical memoranda, meeting minutes, transmittals, presentations, and other written materials. Perform archival/electronic research to obtain data, documents, and other information, to be compiled, summarized, and/or integrated directly into project deliverables.

Qualifications
BS-Biology or related field. Min. 4+ year s experience-biological/environmental projects. Understands salmonid biology/ecology-west coast fishery management issues. Knowledge of data collection, interpretation, reduction, analysis, presentation working knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and ESA. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Strong oral/written communication skills. Leadership skills ability to work in team environment.

5445 North Pacific Groundfish Observer Alaskan Observers, Inc., WA $3,900.00-$6,006.00 month, DOE Until filled. permanent
Responsibilities
Observers gather management data for the Government, living and working aboard U.S.-flagged commercial fishing vessels operating in the Bering Sea and North Pacific Oceans. Persons hired will attend a paid training in Seattle, WA or Anchorage, AK. In the seven months following training, observers make two deployments, each one of which is approximately 2 to 3 months in length. Observers are guaranteed subsequent deployment opportunities and salary advances. Salary: $3,900.00-$6,006.00 month, DOE, plus room, board, and travel to and from job site. Closing Date: Positions available year-round. Currently recruiting for trainings that will begin 12/1 and 12/2.

Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in fisheries biology, marine biology, general biology, zoology, or a related natural science.
