Alaska Chapter
The Alaska Chapter of the American Fisheries Society is a professional organization of individuals interested in maintaining high standards for the fisheries profession and ensuring conservation of Alaska's fisheries. This web site is a source of current information regarding the Alaska Chapter and its activities.

The Alaska Chapter of the American Fisheries Society is pleased to announce the availability of a monetary award[1] for an Alaska Native or other minority person to cover travel expenses to attend the 2008 Annual AFS Chapter Conference during October 27-30, 2008 in Anchorage, Alaska.

Applicants must be Alaskan Native or Minority (woman, black, Hispanic, or other ethnic minority) in a field of fisheries science or a related discipline, must be in an entry level position or student, AND will not be able to attend the meeting otherwise (a full set of the criteria are listed in the application forms below). The deadline for application this year is September 26, 2008, the application form is available from the below (in MSWord or Adobe PDF format), or by contacting one of the Cultural Diversity co-chairs.
