Section Membership
There are two kinds of memberships in the AFS Genetics Section.
Regular memberships cost $5 and are available to anyone
who is also a member of the American Fisheries Society. Affiliate
memberships cost $15 and are available to anyone. Affiliate
members share all the privileges of regular members except those
prohibited by the bylaws of the parent society. For example
affiliate members can not vote or hold office. The AFS
genetics section encourages all of its members to join the parent
society.
How To Join
If you would like to join both the AFS parent society and the genetics
section online fill out a membership form on the AFS web page , check the box for the Genetics
Section, and include $5 Genetics Section dues in your payment. If
you have any questions, contact the AFS membership secretary at main@fisheries.org or 301-897-8616.
If you are a current member of AFS and want to join the genetics
section, download a membership
application (PDF format).
If you would like an affiliate membership, just check the "Affiliate
Membership" box in the membership
application.
