Foreword

     These document attempts to briefly summarize some of the historical record that exists about the Indiana Chapter of the American Fisheries Society (IAFS) since 1970. Every effort was made for inclusion of relevant and accurate data without significant omissions. The author included edited prior contributions by Jed Pearson from 1970-1983 and Paul Glander from 1984-1989. Many other sources and individuals were consulted for lists and the 1990-2000 annual narratives. If you find inaccuracies or omissions in the manuscript, please note them and contact the author so corrections may be incorporated in a future update.

     I have assembled this record in an attempt to provide hard copy of some of the rich history of our maturing organization. In addition to the obvious historical interest, chapter records may be useful as a reference and this document will, hopefully, fulfill that role. Plans are to store additional information electronically such as business meeting minutes and annual technical session programs. I will be working in the weeks and months ahead to accomplish that goal. If anyone has suggestions or wishes to make contributions, please contact me.

     Thanks to everyone who assisted in any way with this endeavor. It was my pleasure to produce it for the chapter.
