Responsibilities: Assist Big Rivers Biologist in management and research
of Indiana's
interjurisdictional and large river resources.
Specialized knowledge of biological principals, ecological variables,
and life histories of aquatic communities including fish, plants, and
invertebrates. Specialized knowledge of
limnology, ichthyology, fisheries management, and aquatic resource
management. Ability to serve as a
project leader on specific species projects such as blue catfish and shovelnose
sturgeon. Conducts or assists in
conducting scientific evaluations of fisheries resources. Ability to work independently with limited
supervision and coordinate responsibilities and schedules with a supervisor
located at a remote location.
Responsible for developing budgets, project planning, safety, equipment
repair and maintenance. Coordinate
schedule to assist with field collections of fish using various types of
sampling gear. Communicate effectively,
verbally and in writing, on tasks and accomplishments.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in
fisheries biology or related field and must hold a valid driver’s license.
Salary: $30,082.00
