AFS Business Meeting Summary
The Indiana Chapter of the American Fisheries Society held its spring
technical meeting at Clifty Falls State Park in Madison, IN, on
February 27 and 28, 2008. The meeting was attended by 20 students from
4 colleges or universities, and 58 professionals from 12 different
affiliations. Scott Hale (Ohio DNR), Ray Valley (Minnesota DNR), and
Andy Crozier (Indiana DNR) gave presentations on hydroacoustics at the
plenary session. Students and professionals presented 12 papers and 4
posters. The Indiana Chapter gives awards to the best professional
paper and poster, and the best student paper and poster that are
presented at the spring technical meeting. See below for details on who
won.

Results from the spring technical meeting. The IAFS best paper/poster recipients are: Best Student Paper: Jayson Beugly Best Student Poster: Jennifer Pritchett Invasive Asian Carp in the Middle Wabash River and Potential Impacts on Fish Assemblages Best Professional Paper: Tom Lauer Best Professional Poster: Michelle Cain Registered Black Bass Tournament Monitoring in Indiana: A Comparison of Ten Lakes/Reservoirs These awards will be presented at the fall IAFS meeting. Thanks to all the presenters for contributing to a successful joint meeting! The talks were very informative and it was good to see all the young professionals and their work.
